I started taking photos at LARP (Live Action Role Play) events over a decade ago. Initially focusing on the high action scenes but as time passed I found I had a talent for the portraiture of character shots, capturing the emotion and drama of the personal interactions whether in conversation or amidst the action of the battles.
A few years ago I had the opportunity to photograph a belly dance event and found myself studying the dancers movements, looking for the perfect moment to capture the impact of their dance in a still image. This proved to be quite the challenge as these events are usually in low or difficult light conditions and you are trying to capture a dancers quick movements, the two do not make taking quality photographs easy.
I am proud of the work I produce for the dancers. Every event I attend is different and provides its own challenges which drive me to improve and take even better photos.
